Methodology

How the Reliability Score works

FlightReport ranks airlines using a transparent, public formula. Airlines cannot pay to change their score.

Base score

Every airline starts each month at 100. Verified passenger reports apply deductions; positive outcomes apply small bonuses. The score is clamped between 0 and 100.

Verification & fairness

  • Only verified reports count toward the score.
  • Ties are broken by report count (more reports ranks lower on reliability).
  • Airlines cannot pay to improve their ranking — paid features cover analytics and response tools only.
  • Rankings currently reflect submitted reports only. Passenger-volume normalization will be added when reliable public data is available.
